Had a meal last night which was truly excellent, all 3 courses were delicious and beautifully presented. Wanted to thank the chef but he had gone by the time we finally left the table. Well done!
3 courses and a few rounds of drinks (including cocktails) for just over £50/head, good value.

Hands down the best burger in Bedfordshire and by far the best burger I have ever eaten! Service was great, very friendly staff and holds a very cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be back for more!

Lovely place but as a vegetarian it was pretty bad, I haven't seen such a meat based menu in years, your veggie options are soup or bread, disappointing as the place is great in a nice location but I won't be going again.

We came in for a lunchtime meal and were surprised to find only one other customer there.
I ordered the fish and chips, and was disappointed to see the fish was about half the size it used to be. While the tartar sauce was very good and the mushy peas were tasty, the small portion meant I didn?t feel full after the meal.
The experience was further let down by the state of the toilets ? they were unclean, with visible stains and overflowing bins, which left a bad impression overall.

I had lunch here with a colleague. The service was extremely good even though it was quite busy. The soup was excellent, clearly homemade and very tasty, but the burger was a bit disappointing and rather rubbery. Typical pub grub at fairly reasonable prices.

Recently moved to the area , we were looking for a nice local to have lunch, we made a mistake! Visit for Sunday lunch a couple weeks ago, service unbelievably bad, waiting an hour for lunch, staff bought our dinner but still hadn?t had our starters! Had to keep going to get own drinks as no service in restaurant all the staff were behind the bar, . Floor dirty, food on floor under table, what a shame , I?m sorry to say, we would definitely not recommend.

I'm very saddened by the experience at this pub as I was starting with very high expectations by seeing reviews and website. We arrived Sunday lunchtime when the restaurant was almost empty and we were left alone a long time before even being able to order. The food came more than half an hour later, after we reminded the staff about our order. The food quality was good, with lots of vegetables, but lacking flavour in the main roast item (e.g., vegetarian roast was literally a piece of cauliflower, the chicken was a plain breast). Portions were very small so we decided to share a couple of desserts. Unfortunately we were not able to have them, as there were more delays. After over 15 minutes no food was in sight so that we decided to leave. When asking to pay at the counter the staff was strangely asking us if we would like to pay without seeing the bill and initially charged us for the desserts we didn't consume. Luckily a refund was issued after I noticed it, but the overall conclusion was that we left half hungry and extremely tired after two hours.

Had a lovely lunch with my friend today. She had Caesar Salad, I had salad nicoise. Lovely fresh ingredients, generous portions and delicious. Only down side was too full to order a dessert!

Nice pub for a bite to eat and catch up with friends. Staff friendly, bar service not table service.
