This is the best charity bookshop in Bedford, small but a great variety of subjects and very helpful staff.

Well I can't say I've ever had any issues with unprofessional behaviour from staff, as has been described in previous reviews. The old fella at the till was perfectly pleasant when he served me. The books are all separated into genre, and the CDs and vinyl are in alphabetical order, which makes it much easier to find what you're after. I managed to pick up two slightly rare Shania Twain albums for just under £3 in total, and it's a great place to pic up books by some of my favourite authors such as Dean Koontz and Stephen King - which they never seem to be short of!I'll be popping in on the regular from now on, especially since ive inherited a turntable from a family relative. Vinyl collection, here I come! ?????

If someone wants to start to gain experience for work I recommend Oxfam is the best choice. Sadly I didn't get the reference there as there are other new people there but I'm sure I received positive feedbacks from various tutors. Also, if you are very obedient to instruction and hardworking you may get free stuff as a merit like somebody did it for me when I showed my hard work and was obedient to instructions. So, it's a good place. I would say better than any charity shops I have gone.

One of two of the National Charity Oxfam in Bedford. The environment is excellent and friendly from all staff and volunteers. The bargains you can pick up on the books, cds, vinyl and more make coming to this store very worthwhile. The good that Oxfam do to aid the less fortunate in the world is an additional feelgood factor. With Giftaid, by simple signing up as a UK Tax Payer, further money goes towards the good of what Oxfam does at no added cost to you!

Really nasty atmosphere here. Two Saturday volunteers were ridiculing a homeless man, calling him smelly, that he made them feel sick and should be put in the stocks. Disgraceful behaviour. Then a member of the public entered to enquire whether a volunteer driver position was still open, when he left the manager went on to bad mouth him with the volunteers making out that his enquiry was somehow unjustified. This shop is everything that is wrong with charity shops with the snooty stuck up people who help run them.

Disregarding the mediocrity of the stock and shop, the staff here are incredibly unprofessional - talking loudly about customers at the till making snide and nasty comments loudly whilst slurping coffee. One said that a local homeless man should "be paid by the council to wash" and they were also condescending and snotty towards a man who was asking if a job position was still vacant, along with the manager.I wouldn't shop here again, no doubt they comment and ridicule customers regularly and it had a horrid vibe.Avoid.

love the shop and so many different types of books to choose from I live just outside Wellingborough but come to Bedford every two weeks really like the town and feed the swans but most off all your bookshop is the highlight of my trip
