I attended Humphreys and Burgess recently on the suggestion of the local NHS eye department and I was not disappointed. The service provided was personal, considerate and appropriate. I would not consider going anywhere else and recommend it highly to others.Andrew Fyvie

Very happy on both visits, eye test and fitting. Made to feel comfortable and told in detail what was going to happen and what is available in my budget. I?m everso happy with the glasses there was no need to focus no eye ache as previously experienced, perfect!

Poonam was SO LOVELY during our eye tests today. We booked with H&B because they're and independent, and because they offer so much more than your typical Specsavers appointment. Booking was easy via Facebook or phone, and the receptionist was very helpful. There were lots of different tests Poonam did, for both health and vision. She explained what the photos of the back of our eyes showed, and made sure we understood what it all meant. H&B have all the fancy equipment in a professional yet comfortable environment. The price was super reasonable and we felt it was a very honest and reliable service, without being pushed to purchase anything like you'd expect at a larger franchise for example. Thanks so much for reassuring us about our eyes.

Cannot reccomend enough. Poonam goes the extra mile every time I go in, I have had problems with my eyes taking so long to focus, and every other opticians I have tried has never managed to get my perscription correct. Poonam takes extra time with me and makes the effort to remember me every time and I can now see! Great customer service, and made me feel very comfortable with the extra precautions for covid safety on my recent eye test.

This is a very warm and friendly place where both myself and my children felt comfortable and confident in the treatment we were receiving.With Covid and all the uncertainties surrounding it, we felt safe and happy to be there. Cleanliness levels were extremely high and lots of safety measures have been put in place to protect both the patient and those working there. Even with all of this, Poonam still made the experience friendly and personal, so much so the kids want to have their eyes tested every week!

I recently had an eye test and ordered new prescription spectacles.I was most impressed by the thoroughness of the examination and the stste of the art equipment used.The Optician was extremely professional and yet friendly,To cap it all they delivered the new spectacles personally on a Sunday evening to avoid potential postal problems or delays.I cannot recommend this practice highly enough.

The best and most comprehensive eye test I have ever had. And I have had some very good eye tests before. Highly qualified and extremely helpful. A great range of frames and contact lenses also available. Great with kids too - who can be fidgety, distracted and sometimes nervous.I wouldn?t hesitate to recommend to friends and family. 5 stars.

A warm welcome from an optometrist who is very engaging with all generations. I have just had my eyes tested after a recommendation from my mum. Poonam made me feel at ease and you could tell there is a real passion and professionalism there. I was not rushed through like in most high street opticians and was given a great aftercare service, from choosing my frames, from the H&B extensive collection right through to a minor adjustment a few days later. I have just booked my daughter in as I have discovered they do NHS tests as well, and was given some insightful news about a colorimeter test which she is in the process of brining to the practice . A huge thank you to Poonam and here welcoming professional team.

I visit this opticians both for myself and my children. We each have different eye care needs and they are all catered for at Humphriss and Burgess. My son was only 4 when he had his first eye appointment, but Poonam was very patient with him and helped him through the process.Poonam is also excellent at helping us choose frames that suit our individual faces and personalities.

A friendly, professional local optometrists. I have always found the opticians to be polite, knowledgeable and most importantly honest. Although the range of frames is not gigantic, they are priced reasonably and can suit any budget. I don't feel like they are out to make money out of me, they say things as it is and explained the tests they were doing and why they were doing it. Nearest parking is the Lurke Street multi-storey carpark which is just 1 min walk from the opticians
