On the 11th of August I went into this bank with hope to open a new bank account along with a bank card. After 30 minutes of waiting to be seen after filling out all of the forms, I was finally seen by a woman who seemed to not know what she was doing. Since I am 16 I had my mother with me, the woman started asking my mum irrelevant questions, such as whether she owns our house. Due to the fact we were opening an account in my name I couldn?t see how this was relevant. After 2 weeks of waiting for my bank card to arrive we were surprised by a letter instead. The letter stated that we needed to give photographic Id, despite the fact we brought my passport which they photocopied in the first place. Called them and no help was given. The woman on the phone could find no evidence on her system that we had even tried to set up the account. Very disappointed to say the least.. will bank with Lloyds instead! Have just completed an online Lloyds application in less time than it took for the phone call and they have already emailed me.

Very bad experience in this branch. I was there on 23rd Feb 2023 on Thursday to update my surname as I got married abroad. Lady with her short blonde hair was convinced that I have not enough proofs of getting married.She was totally convinced that I need a "professional" translation of my marriage certificate ( it was a professional marriage certificate with translation at the back with a stamp and signature on it). She was keeping my new passport in her hands with my new surname still thinking it's not enough to update my details. They wasted my time and wanted waste my money too.I gone to different branch of the same bank next day and they have been able to update my details. Why? What's the difference?I tell you why, as you can read on HSBC website if you have valid document with your new name you can still update your details.I will never go there again. I don't recommend this bank.

I have had reason to be in contact with HSBC on the sudden death of my father who banked with HSBC. The staff could not have been kinder nor more helpful assisting me with paying bills and understanding my father's finances. Special thanks to Kerry, Wajeeha and Alice who have all helped lift an enormous weight from our shoulders. First class service from kind, professional people.

I have banked with HSBC for about 20years and they have got worse and worse with late opening time and early closing times and closing more branches.Today for the second time I have made a specific trip into Bedford Town as the website says the branch is open to find is it not..... Update your website and the Google page if you are closed as getting into Bedford Town is a nightmare.This is the only branch for miles around and its closed due to staff shortages. Yet every other bank in Bedford is open.How an I am supposed to pay cash in? If the only branch for miles around is closed.I'm now going to look change my bank as this has been the straw that broke the camels back.

Me and my husband recently moved from Sri Lanka to Bedford and my husband just started to work as a doctor in Bedford NHS. Since we were looking for houses to rent we didn't have a permanent address and wanted to explore the possibility of opening an account with hospital reference letter. The first person who served was okay. Then that person inquired from the person next to him about our queries and he was rude in his communication skills. I felt they would have communicated their ideas in a more polite manner.

Pointless bank, I work 9-5 Monday to Friday and only have weekends off. Woke up early on my day off as their only open till 1pm on Saturdays to make a cash withdrawal. Turns out no cash withdrawals on weekends.
