Can't say I would come again. Salad had the ceasar dressing missing, fish cake had the coleslaw missing. One of our party if 4 was still waiting for food when the rest of us had finished. Locals were not friendly at all, glared at us constantly and stood in our way when we tried to get past. Scampi and chips was nice when it did arrive eventually.

Love this place. Great views of Southampton Water. A proper pub. Have not tried any food here though

Nice to see a pub surviving in the old style. Great friendly atmosphere with good service (Especially if Libby is working always service with a smile and polite banter). Would have eaten there if they did food in the evening.

It's a pub full of life. Nothing posh about it, but a friendly welcome and a good pint served by friendly bar staff as the footy played out on the tellies. It was perfect for me with 40 minutes to kill before the ferry. I would certainly come back to try out the food. I like the multi bar layout!

Absolutely lovely place, visited here today with my aunt.Lovely atmosphere and very quirky old pub, lots of history.Had children's roast chicken, which was more than enough for a grown adult, delicious. Gravy was homemade and roasties were really crispy, veg cooked perfect and homemade Yorkshire pudding was lush.Staff were very helpful and polite, very friendly. Definitely recommend and will return on my next visit from Wales.

A pleasant old pub near the ferry in Hythe High street , we popped in for lunch on a very cold end of February day , the food was good and the staff helpful , there is a very nice garden which we will visit on a warmer day it as great views of the water and passing ships ,

A lovely pub for something to eat. Sit quietly in one of the 'snugs' for a drink and a chat with friends. The food was well presented and tasted very good. Thank you.

We had a large work party meal at the Nelson and I have to give them top marks. The food was great, the staff were friendly, helpful and fast. Nothing was too much trouble. We'll be going again

Had a great roast dinner at this friendly pub. Food was great and huge portions, very good value. Most importantly the staff were friendly and welcoming. Can't fault it at all. Will be going back.

This is one of those really oldie worldie pubs with multiple minute bars, stuffed full of bric-a-brac and mementoes from a bygone age. It's on the Cask Marque Ale Trail and the purpose of my visit. Despite saying so on their website and although the door was open , they were clearly not ready for business at 11.00, and there was no way the beer would be fit to serve.I asked for a coffee, but even this was met with vaguary.I'm sure it's a lovely pub, but not at 11.00 on a Sunday morning
